BBA Scope in Government Sector 

Banking Sector 

There are various government banks that provide jobs to BBA graduates. These banks generally recruit candidates for Provisional Officers (PO) and clerks posts by conducting exams through online mode. SBI (State Bank of India) conducts its exam separately to recruit candidates for Provisional Officers (PO) and clerks posts. All government banks in India except, SBI recruits candidates through IBPS- Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.

IBPS conducts two assessments every year namely IBPS clerk and IBPS PO. The selection process for the IBPS exam includes a preliminary written exam followed by a mains exam and a personal interview. No personal interview is conducted for the clerical post recruitment.

The syllabus of the written exam includes subjects like numerical ability, general English, reasoning, general awareness, computer knowledge, and marketing aptitude. Nowadays, the banks have also started recruiting candidates for the post of Specialist Officer (SO) in different fields like management, finance, and marketing. 

Civil Service Exam

After completing the BBA course, graduates can apply for the IAS and IPS position posts. For these posts, candidates will need to qualify for the civil service exam conducted by UPSC- Union Public Service Commission. BBA graduates are good for administrative services as they have already studied administration in their graduation.

The UPSC exam consists of a total of three stages namely the Preliminary exam, the Main exam, and the interview. In the mains exam, there is a list of optional subjects and candidates will need to select one of them as per their expertise. BBA graduates can choose the subjects like commerce and accountancy, public administration, management, economics, and statistics.  

Police Sub Inspector Job

This a great job option for BBA graduates. For this job post, candidates will need to qualify for the entrance exam conducted by SSC- Staff Selection Commission. This exam consists of a written test which will examine the knowledge of the candidates. The written test consists of subjects like general knowledge, reasoning, and English. Further, candidates are selected as per their merit. To appear for this exam, students will need to fulfill the eligibility criteria as written below: 

  • Candidates should be Indians 
  • The height of the male applicant should be at least 157 cm 
  • The height of the female applicant should be at least 152 cm

Defense Services 

Joining the armed force will provide you the opportunity to serve your beloved nation. After BBA, candidates can join defense services like Indian Navy, Indian Army, and Indian Air Force. For joining the defense services, candidates will need to qualify for the CDS (Combined Defense Service) entrance examination or the SSC (Staff Selection Commission) entrance examination. Selections of candidates are done on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam. 

Other Government Sector Jobs
